About
the Company

Focal Point offers effective SaaS solutions for the procurement side, focusing on enhanced customer experiences, transaction safety and security, tracking project progress, and maximizing the value and utility of third-party solutions. It is a holistic solution for simplifying business processes and quantifying performance and efficiency in measurable, trackable terms while keeping costs at bay.

The company deals with Fortune-100 level organizations that run hundreds of parallel projects and equips them with the right tools to track project progress without relying on manual information exchanges. Additionally, Focal Point’s solution also helps clients track customer satisfaction and cost savings through the reporting feature.

The Demand

Focal Point needed a website that could accommodate existing functionality, content, and modules; since an incumbent already existed, it required powered adjustment. To that end, Team Codesign was to rejig the entire functional workflow of the website. In addition, the website was supposed to provide a login to the app portal, creating more core functionality requirements for the project.

Significant improvement and reconditioning were needed with the incumbent. Team Codesign was also to take up rebranding and style-scaping of the project. A new “brand” needed to be created that would have its own colors and styles, leaving behind the older signature.

TCD selected Webflow as the most suitable platform for deploying Focal Point’s project, owing to the customizations needed, the complexities involved, and the hands-on client involvement required.

The Challenge

Focal Point needed a website that could accommodate existing functionality, content, and modules; since an incumbent already existed, it required powered adjustment. To that end, Team Codesign was to rejig the entire functional workflow of the website. In addition, the website was supposed to provide a login to the app portal, creating more core functionality requirements for the project.

The incumbent was loaded with functional elements and modules that needed consideration before a new platform or solution could be designed. Content also already existed, and it was a challenge to visualize and conceptualize a full-fledged project that could revolve around existing functions.
The rebranding was a major challenge. There were no brand assets in consideration at the beginning of the project; creating new style-scapes and identity was a brainstorm. The colors, styles, flow, and other aspects of branding needed to be redone from the ground up.

The Process

Upon initial observation, the project was deemed a little complex due to specific requirements, imports, and integrations needed. Team Codesign, therefore, began initiating discussions with the stakeholders to understand the big picture and work out the little details. Workshops to understand the Focal Point brand, their culture, and their product were conducted.

The information and guidance that TCD gleaned from these interactions proved to be monumental in designing the architectural aspects of the project, centring around creating experiential user flows. TCD engaged in timely calls with Focal Point every week to ensure the project was progressing in the direction it desired to go and promote transparency of the whole development process. It was necessary to maintain constant superintendence on the stakeholders’ part for building trust and keeping the project pointing the right way.

Team Codesign adopted an agile approach towards tackling the specificities of the project. The demonstration workshop helped a great deal in giving perspective to the idea of the project; it eventually formed the foundation for basing the information architecture on.

All the discussions, workshops, and calls gave TCD a good idea of what Focal Point needed. However, the real process began with ideating over the concept of the project, its wireframes, and multiple iterations that would do justice to the brand.

TCD then finally moved on to finalizing the color scheme and style-scapes for the project.

The Solution

Webflow was selected as the development platform of choice because of its conveniences, high-power customization, and functionalities for a project with scopes similar to Focal Point’s. Team Codesign, being experts in Webflow development in the country, offered Focal Point an immersive, intuitive, responsive website that:

  • Incorporated every functionality that was present in the incumbent

  • Was suitable for the initial content as it could be adopted onto the new platform easily

  • Was faster and lither than others in the industry

During the entire project development process, the Webflow development platform made it possible for Focal Point to edit elements and make other changes with supreme ease while being able to monitor every step of the process closely. In addition, the developed prototypes could also be modified by Focal Point to get the desired results.

After mobilizing prototypes for modifications and changes, Team Codesign launched the project internally for a final review. Focal Point did a thorough walkabout on the project, suggesting minor changes where needed. After synchronizing the project in tune with Focal Point’s vision, TCD performed the official handover of the assets of the completed project to them.

Webflow injected some speed in developing, modifying, and delivering the project as per Focal Point’s timelines.
